Let’s peruse the essentials of cool…

Pretty sure that starts with the 51-30. Nixon, doing it again… love this ad! I love companies who can destroy their product in an advertisement and it just makes it that much more appealing to the target audience. Sexy, Intelligent & Cool!

An Interview with BRANDEVER

In the second year of my degree I saw a CBC special on Vancouver’s ‘Brand Man,’ Bernie Hadley-Beauregard. After working with large clients such as Starbucks, Purdy’s Chocolates and Granville Island Brewing, he started his own strategic brand consulting and creative design firm BRANDEVER. I’ve admired his ability to think outside of the box and flip brands nearly overnight, like ‘Lotusland Vineyards.’ The opportunity arose in my final year of schooling to interview someone in Vancouver’s design industry whom we admired. Of course without hesitation I chose Bernie. To my surprise he invited me in, made me a latte and shared with me for over two hours about his career and gave me incredible advice for my future as a designer/marketer. The man is brilliant, I’ve never met anyone who has inspired me as much as he did. Not to mention I had my hands full with bottles of wine when i left, like i really needed an extra perk! I compiled my interview with Bernie and created a perfect bound book with accordion fold pages. I embossed the BRANDEVER logo/logotype and used illustrations from his past work the grace the inside of the folding flap cover. After drooling over so much of his work on thedieline it inspired me to do a wine packaging project of my own in hope that it would make it to thedieline and sure enough it did! This book is not just a keepsake and moment in my design career i will never forget, it is my ode to BRANDEVER!
