DARK SIDE OF THE LENS // ASTRAY FILMS
This is probably one of the most inspiring short films ever. Whether your a surfer, photographer, lover of the sea or just a creative you’ve gotta watch this! The commentary is amazing and the shots speak for themselves. I always take a few minutes to watch this when I feel like I need some inspiration but don’t have the time to go on vacation. Enjoy and remember to follow your passion! #passionoverprofit
Filmmaker Chris McClean has just released this short surf film, Snoozer. It features Gabe Davis and is an ode to the fickle and frigid breaks of the North Sea.
It has been entered into London Surf Film Festival’s The Shorties film contest, so keep an eye out for it. The London Surf Film Festival will be hosting screenings, talks and workshops to the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London from October 11-14, 2012.

PAPER SEA
A new publication has hit the surf community! The best part? You can purchase prints from the current issue. Awesome! (@paperseathree)
Heres what they have to say about their creative efforts…
Paper Sea Quarterly started as a simple recognition of the need for change.
Intelligent, creative men and women with an appreciation for hand-crafted quality will find honest stories and critical pictures on surf, travel and art from likeminded contributors the world over.
We saw the need for a creative alternative and so we present to you a quarterly book for people who share our affinity for the ocean, creativity in its infinite manifestations and the thrills and perils of travelling amongst far away cultures.
Full-bleed photographs captured by the world’s best photographers accompanied by their stories behind the moments are set alongside in depth interviews and honest stories from our amazing team of writers. We are publishing first-hand experiences as we explore not just the beaches but also the cultures of far away countries.
We have fought hard to get this idea off the ground and it is with much pride and many thanks to innumerable people that we can present to you Paper Sea Quarterly, a publication for surfers, artists and travellers.
The Paper Sea Three Andy, Tom, and Andrew would like to thank you for your support in this collaboration. We need you to survive, so spread the good word, the Paper Sea word and ensure you buy a subscription to keep the journey going.
